Vincent, you seem to be talking about different problems. I thought you had
resolved the issue with writing to /tmp, so we can take another look at that.
All I'm saying is that, as a feature enhancement, I prefer your second
suggestion, and that as a workaround (or perhaps as a recommended best practice
for everyone), you set your tmpdir for your tests to the target directory. This
wouldn't involve changing Cargo's architecture at all.
