Also having this issue. Updating maven-dependency-plugin to >= 2.5 gives me the
improved error message, however I do not get rid of the warning.
No matter which phase I'm using, it will be always there after doing "Maven ->
Update Project..."
@Warren: the error disappears after a "mvn clean", but it comes back right
after "Maven -> Update Project..."...
