attempting to workaround with `.mvn/jvm.config` or `.mvn/maven.config` also
fail.
jvm config errors are similar to above, maven.config yeilds errors like
{noformat}
[ERROR] Error executing Maven.
org.apache.commons.cli.ParseException: Unrecognized maven.config entries:
[space/.m2_repo]
