Can you post the Maven command that you used, along with your {{settings.xml}}?
Are you sure the settings file picked up by Maven was the changed one? For that
you can run Maven in debug mode with {{mvn -X}} (refer to
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9988814/how-do-i-find-out-which-settings-xml-file-maven-is-using).
