Assembly configuration is a plugin-specific issue and not primarily tied to the
POM definition. The scripts directory has never gained real traction and there
is no default way to use it properly with Maven. Though, we cannot perform any
changes to the model 4.0.0. We can drop it for 5.0.0 and leave somehting
completely to the user.
