My use cases are:
* Bug reporting: Running 'mvn -version' is a great way to list environment
information when reporting a bug for any Java based project. Sometimes, precise
OS version matters.
* Apache VOTE threads: When I create an RC and review RCs, I use 'mvn
-version' to record my environment. This is handy when something goes wrong and
also nice when it goes right as it provides a record of what was tested.
