Marc Philipp commented on SUREFIRE-1698:
----------------------------------------

The JUnit Platform architecture does in no way prevent such an API from being
added. What are you referring to? However, even if the JUnit Platform added
such an API, killing the forked process is more reliable and almost immediate.
Other build tools, for example Gradle, do exactly that. So you should at least
consider implementing it in a more reliable way before going around blaming
other people.

As a side note, I think you should really rethink how you communicate with
other people in general and in particular if you expect them to help you.

> I have a Maven test project. In which I use context-related tests. I use a
> maven-surefire-plugin to run tests. I need to make the test stop running
> after the first failed test. I found a way to do this through
> -Dsurefire.skipAfterFailureCount=1, but it doesn't work. Maybe I'm doing
> something wrong? Below is my pom.xml:
> {code:java}
> <properties>
>     <selenide.version>5.3.0</selenide.version>
>     <junit.jupiter.version>5.5.1</junit.jupiter.version>

> </build>
> {code}
> Why is this parameter ignored?
