[~md_5] ok for the transformer point but not for the default one. Default will
not properly merge the manifest in 100% of the cases and it breaks environments
and applications so it is a bug to let it go this way. I fully hear it is
sometimes hurtless but it is rare and still a buggy configuration so it
shouldn't be hidden and user should fix it anyway IMHO.
