Ultimately, am not against splitting, but I see no value in doing that aside to 
double (non-coding) effort around these totally sane changes (java7 in 2020? 
Guice 3 vs Guice 4). Maybe just reformulate and remove "align to maven" and say 
something like "update Java and dependencies?"
