Ah yes, [~michael-o], a long time after dealing with this issue I forgot that
what for me looks like "simply Maven" from a user perspective is a set of
different projects, here Maven Core vs. Maven Deploy Plugin. I am apologising
for that oversight. Back in April I had identified the Maven Core commit fixing
the issue, but now I just had this issue in mind, not the dependency to the
other project.
