Elliot Metsger commented on MEAR-63:
------------------------------------

Hi Stephane,

Yes, I'm a committer with Pluto. A chat on IRC sounds like a good idea. I'm
UTC -4 (USA, Eastern Daylight Savings Time). Weekends and evenings ( ~ 6pm -
11pm EDT) are good times for me to chat, but I can easily be available other
times as well.

If you can give me a couple of days notice, there may be a couple other Pluto
developers interested as well (they are also UTC -4).

Related to this discussion is PLUTO-359,
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PLUTO-359. This will add support for ear
file assembly in Pluto's ant tasks and Maven plugins. Perhaps some of that
code or functionality could be used by the EAR plugin.

> We would like to have the EAR plugin use a custom JarArchiver.
> In Maven 2.0.x, Plexus component lookups for our custom JarArchiver component
> fail randomly (I'm told by one of the Maven developers in the Maven chatroom
> on irc.codehaus.org that this behavior is fixed in Maven 2.1).
> Could the EAR plugin provide a protected method (for extending classes to
> override) which obtains the JarArchiver?
