I don't really understand that comment either. Can I define my
usernames/passwords in my personal settings.xml and have them propagate to
system-wide MAVEN_HOME/conf/settings.xml or not? If not, is there some other
way to achieve that same result? If still not, then I suggest you rethink the
whole personal settings system.
So John, could you please clarify what you meant by your comment? Couple of
examples would be highly appreciated also, I don't really understand what you
mean by "request properties"... What request?
