Thanks a lot for putting this together so quickly! @cstamas I'm not sure if you're talking about "internal requirements" or if you'd like to understand more about this setup where having the `symlink+file:` transport option would be a game changer for me. Let me know if it's the latter. Regarding this "chained local repository" alternative you mentioned, is this something exposed via configuration for Maven users or you're referring to using [`ChainedLocalRepositoryManager`](https://maven.apache.org/resolver/apidocs/org/eclipse/aether/util/repository/ChainedLocalRepositoryManager.html)?
