@michael-o ok, I think I understand [`master` branch (currently 4.0.0-M17-SNAPSHOT)](https://github.com/apache/maven-site-plugin/blob/master/pom.xml) vs [`maven-site-plugin-3.x` branch (currently )3.21.1-SNAPSHOT](https://github.com/apache/maven-site-plugin/blob/maven-site-plugin-3.x/pom.xml) and FTR, the old Doxia 1 [maven-site-plugin-3.12.x branch (currently 3.12.2-SNAPSHOT)](https://github.com/apache/maven-site-plugin/blob/maven-site-plugin-3.12.x/pom.xml) what about [`mvn4` branch (currently 3.11.0-SNAPSHOT)](https://github.com/apache/maven-site-plugin/blob/mvn4/pom.xml)? given master branch has not been update to Maven 4 at all, shouldn't maven-site-plugin-3.x be master?
