Also, based on your reasoning, if you have artifact files on the file system and these are (for some reason) not defined in the `maven-metadata.xml`, then the artifacts will not be indexed. Theoretically, this can be done the way you're proposing, but it will slow down the re-indexing significantly when used at a much larger scale than just a few files. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
