I managed to reproduce most of these test failures on FreeBSD
(people.apache.org). I fixed the majority of them in revision 602652.
testTestNgTestWithSpaces is still outstanding; I've filed a separate bug
SUREFIRE-403 around this; it depends on PLXUTILS-54.
I couldn't reproduce testUmlaut failure on that box; a stacktrace (and the
log.txt, if the stacktrace doesn't include it) would definitely be helpful.
Failing Surefire integration tests don't cause a build failure yet because I
set testFailureIgnore=true in the surefire-integration-tests POM. When the
tests are running green on all OSes, we can turn that off. I've filed
SUREFIRE-404 so we remember to do that.
