Update: after installing mvnd@1 ("Apache Maven Daemon (mvnd) 1.0.3
darwin-aarch64 native client (824a1fd42088e27dec6cc7cc392b9122379e7bf0)") via
brew I get similar errors:

[ERROR] Could not acquire lock(s)
...
Again, a regular mvn clean install -T1C continues without a problem.
