I would be inclined to keep the warning. Users may be annoyed, but repeated feedbacks from them will keep reminding us that we really need to fix this problem before Maven breaks with a future Java release. After we resolved the fundamental issue, having the warning emitted in old Maven releases will remind users that they should upgrade Maven. If we silence the warning in the next Maven release, when that release will break with a future Java version, users will blame either Java or Maven.
