Closing as out of scope here: the index files under https://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2/.index/ are produced and published by Sonatype, not by this project, so SHA-256 files there would have to come from them. For checking that a download arrived intact, SHA-1 is enough; see https://maven.apache.org/resolver/about-checksums.html.
