I agree with this request. Actually I did removed `module-info` patching in the initial version of Compiler Plugin 4.0, but the demand for strictly reproducible builds was strong. The compromise in 4.0 is to patch only for versions lower than Java 22. It may also be an alternative for 3.x if there is resistance against relaxing strictly reproducible builds. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
