`silent` is deprecated and its message will say it goes in 3.13.0. Since 3.8.1 (MDEP-956) the copy and unpack goals log each artifact at debug level, so the parameter suppresses nothing there; see #1643. What it still does: - `setSilent(true)` replaces the mojo's `Log` with `DependencySilentLog`, which also hides warnings and errors. - `go-offline` logs "Resolved plugin…" and "Resolved dependency…" at info, or at debug when `silent` is set (`GoOfflineMojo.logMessage`). Removal in 3.13.0: - Delete the `silent` field, `isSilent()`, `setSilent()` and `DependencySilentLog`. - Log the `go-offline` messages at debug, matching copy and unpack. - Label the PR `removed`. A POM that still sets `<silent>` then gets Maven's "Parameter 'silent' is unknown" warning and keeps building, checked on Maven 3.9.16, 3.10.0 and 4.0.0-rc-7. `-Dsilent=true` on the command line is ignored. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
