The parent POM already provides the same value for `javaVersion`, so the effective POM is unchanged. Verified: `help:effective-pom` identical before and after; `mvn -B verify -Dinvoker.skip=true` → only the two `testCompilerFork` tests fail, and they fail the same way on unmodified master in my environment.
