Thanks @tobiasstadler for the PR, and sorry it sat here so long.
This is now fixed differently, along the lines Tibor suggested: since 3.6.0
(#3371, SUREFIRE-823), `-DskipTests` only skips Surefire and no longer touches
Failsafe. So skipping unit tests while still running integration tests now just
works:
mvn verify -DskipTests -pl :my-it-project -am
- `-DskipTests` skips unit tests (Surefire) only
- `-DskipITs` skips integration tests (Failsafe) only
- `-Dmaven.test.skip` skips both
Since `-DskipTests` now does what `skipUTs` was meant to do, a new property
isn't needed, so I'm closing this one. Feel free to reopen if your case still
isn't covered on 3.6.x.
