Item 40 of #1793. The table of toolchain-aware plugins in *Guide to Using Toolchains* was checked against every released JAR of each plugin on Central, counting the classes that reference `org/apache/maven/toolchain`: * Surefire supports toolchains since 2.4.3, not 2.5 (2.4.2: 0 classes, 2.4.3: `SurefirePlugin`). * protobuf-maven-plugin since 0.5.0, its first release on Central, not 0.6.1. * keytool-maven-plugin 1.4 to 1.7 only; 2.0.0 and later have no toolchain code. * exec-maven-plugin uses it only in the `exec` goal (`ExecMojo`), animal-sniffer only in `build` (`BuildSignaturesMojo`). * Added: jar (3.4.0, only for the `Build-Jdk-Spec` manifest entry), jlink, jmod, jdeps and jdeprscan (3.0.0, the first non-preview release of each). Rows that were right stay: compiler 2.1, jarsigner 1.3, javadoc 2.5, pmd 3.14.0, failsafe 2.5, animal-sniffer 1.3, cassandra 0.7.0-1, exec 1.1.1. From 2.12.2, Surefire and Failsafe keep their toolchain code in `maven-surefire-common`, so their plugin JARs alone scan as 0; support continues. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
