-------------------------------------

    Resolution: Won't Fix

You're right, the ITs could simply use a parent POM via local lookups, I must
have been brain-dead...

bq. And no it's locked in maven himself (2.0.9).
What I meant with reproducible tests was to rely on the IT POMs *only*, not on
the executing Maven version. The plugin versions in the super POM are a hotfix
for newbies who don't know about the issue yet. A mature build setup should
never rely on these super versions but only on those versions that are
inherited from ordinary/explicit parent POMs.

> Issue Type: New Feature
> Affects Versions: 1.1

> Priority: Minor
>
> Recently it popped into my mind that all IT POMs need to lockdown plugin
> versions as well to make the tests reproducible. Doing this individually for
> each IT POM isn't that much fun so one quickly dreams of a common parent POM
> with a {{<pluginManagement>}}.
> One could already install such an IT parent by means of two Invoker
> executions or the help of the Install Plugin but that's far too much hassle
> to copy one little POM around.
