Benjamin Bentmann commented on MSITE-565:
-----------------------------------------
For the record, I disagree with this idea. The site, like any other build
output affected/created by plugins, should be reproducible which requires to
lock down the report plugin versions.
> Allow some dependencies to be unversioned

> Key: MSITE-565

> Project: Maven 2.x and 3.x Site Plugin
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Components: Maven 3
> Affects Versions: 3.0-beta-3
> Reporter: SebbASF
>
> Maven 3 generates a warning if plugins are unversioned.
> This is a good idea for plugins that affect generated artifacts, but is
> overkill for reporting plugins, for example FindBugs.
> There should be a way to tell Maven 3 that certain missing versions are
> allowed.
