David, thank you for the feed back. This is a very edge case where I need to
unpack a punch of tar.gz as dependencies where preserve softlink after unpack.
This is not working under current m-d-p. The feature is optional and it will
use what ever tar executable is available. This puts little burden on user (
to be documented)
