Herve Boutemy commented on MCHECKSTYLE-247:
-------------------------------------------

I completely agree with you on preferring @SuppressWarnings
but my tests with Maven core showed me that there are places where
@SuppressWarnings can't be used: package-info.java, javadoc comments
and sometimes, I used this syntax when I found it easier to marke a few lines

so IMHO, this is usefull

> add CHECKSTYLE_OFF/ON: regexp support (SuppressionCommentFilter)

> see http://checkstyle.sourceforge.net/config.html#SuppressionCommentFilter
> being able to write:
> {code:java}// CHECKSTYLE_OFF: RegexpHeader|LineLength{code}
> to disable some precise rules, or even disable every rules with
> {code:java}// CHECKSTYLE_OFF: .*{code}
> can be really useful
