Currently all of the libprocess / mesos tests will execute the local node code
paths in the internals of libprocess. This leaves a significant gap in our test
coverage. Especially in light of the recent networking changes underway by
[~jvanremoortere] and [~benjaminhindman].
We missed an issue when fixing MESOS-2182 as well, and would have loved to put
a test in place for the issue in the remote node path.
One option here is to provide, for testing purposes, the ability to force local
nodes to be interpreted as remote.
