Getting homebrew to properly build and install Mesos __including__ the native
eggs on OSX is hard to solve in a reliable way due to the way distutils work as
mentioned in MESOS-799 and also as described in
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/20733512/mesos-examplestest-pythonframework-check-fails-on-osx/20733513#20733513.
If Apple was distributing a clang built Python, things were a lot easier.
Even though Mesos is not commonly used in production on OSX (missing isolation
is one of the deal-breakers), it definitely is used a lot on OSX by developers.
Allowing it to be used on OSX is IMHO a huge gainer when it comes to lowering
the entry hurdle on becoming a Mesos developer. Hence making sure the Mesos
homebrew recipe works flawlessly should IMHO be of a very high priority for us.
