Adam B commented on MESOS-1476:
-------------------------------

In Mesos, `Accepted` means that a Committer agrees that we should address this
issue (eventually), and often they sign up as the Shepherd for the task. When a
task is in Accepted, it is ready to find an Assignee to work on it, at which
point it can transition to "In Progress".
My understanding is that we still want to do this at some point, but it is no
longer a requirement for Maintenance Primitives MVP, so it is no longer
actively In Progress (or even Assigned), but still Accepted.

> Provide endpoints for deactivating / activating slaves.

> When performing maintenance operations on slaves, it is important to allow
> these slaves to be drained of their tasks.
> The first essential primitive of draining slaves is to prevent them from
> running more tasks. This can be achieved by "deactivating" them: stop sending
> their resource offers to frameworks.
