[~antonl] Thanks for getting back to us!
I don't think we want to deprecate the flag entirely, but the first patch
should probably:
- Log a warning if the flag is not used, explaining that the default behavior
will change in a future version.
- Change the flag description to mention the upcoming change in behavior.
The patch for a subsequent release will:
- Change the default from `false` to `true`
- Remove the deprecation warning
- Mention the change in upgrades.md
[~vinodkone] Does this align with what you were thinking?
I'm not sure I'm the right shepherd for this ticket. Perhaps Vinod or
[~idownes] would be better.
