After some discussion, we're going to wait on implementing this change. First,
we will make the {{ReservationInfo}}'s {{principal}} field optional, but have
the master enforce that it must be set for backwards-compatibility. We can
eliminate that enforcement after a deprecation cycle, and then implement this
ticket.
