Some of the error messages found in agent's stdout/stderr do not show up in the
INFO/WARN/ERROR log files. This renders the specification of the log_dir
wasteful and instead rely upon redirecting stdout/stderr to a file.
One example of such a message is when agent starts up with different resource
list or resource totals that do not match what it had before. The agent exits
with no useful messages in the log files. The error messages go to
stdout/stderr only.
