I am liking a combination of the suggestions from @lvets and @cestella.
Something like this maybe?
* `dev-on-centos6`
* `dev-on-ubuntu14`
I like the name because of points made by others...
* The name identifies these as development environments
* Allows us to support multiple versions of the same platform; Ubuntu 16,
CentOS 7, etc.
