Summary: Misconfigured Grok parser fails silently

Without the dateFormat and timeFields parser configs, no messages made it
through parsing, no messages made it to the enrichment topology nor the error
topology, and nothing was seen in the Storm logs.
We need to dig out the root of why it's failing silently, and give a way for a
user to find out what's happening more easily. It's possible that because there
was no timestamp field defined, things fell apart.
