justinleet commented on issue #1341: METRON-614: Eliminate use of the default Charset URL: https://github.com/apache/metron/pull/1341#issuecomment-521040026 @mmiklavc If they're using a system default that isn't UTF-8 (say ISO_8859_1), all the parsers that currently work would silently start using the new default of UTF-8 and no longer be able to parse the data. Let me know if this understanding is incorrect. For most, if not all, users this shouldn't be a concern, but I just want to make sure it's communicated.
