Dale Richardson commented on METRON-1967:
-----------------------------------------
[~otto] One thing to consider here which I do not have an answer to. Metron
appears to be installed into the full dev image via the use of an Ambari
blueprint. My understanding of Ambari blueprints is that they are designed for
use when you are first installing an Ambari-based cluster, and so you cannot
use blueprints to update or change an existing Ambari cluster.
Thus 'base' Ambari image which is then later updated with Metron binaries might
not be able to use the existing process that the current full dev install uses
to install Metron. There may be a substantial amount of work required to
implement this.
> Create a base image for quick dev with HDP already installed and configured

>
> What we should have is an image with HDP installed, such that quickdev only
> deploys metron's packages.
>
> This should speed things up.
