I recently experimented with adding tracing capabilities to our topologies. It
can be difficult to get insight into how messages are flowing through
topologies so this would give us a way to do that. Storm provides aggregates
but this would give timing for an individual message.
This is POC quality right now and needs work. I will work on it as I have time
and would be happy to help others if they felt compelled to pick it up or
contribute to it. Here is the branch:
