I suspect we should ensure that data is flowing through. @merrimanr ,
maybe it'd be good to document in the `README.md` a worked example where you:
* spin up a docker cluster
* generate data using the data generation scripts
* look at the indices to see that there are data
* check Kibana for the data
Am I missing anything?
