Visually verified code (should probably fix your auto-format of imports
though) and did a contrib check build. I saw this problem before when
disconnecting/connecting various nodes. After this commit I no longer saw the
problem when using a secure 3 node cluster. Thanks @markap14, I will merge it
in.
