Tomasz Domanski commented on NIFI-2448:
---------------------------------------

Why is this ticket marked as superceded by NIFI-1868 Add support for Hive
Streaming?

Hive Streaming is one thing, and if you would like to use this processor than
it is great.
However if you would like to use processors like:

 * SelectHiveQL
 * PutHiveQL

They are using Hive Database Connection Pooling Service and this is not working.

So I think this ticket is not resolved by Hive Streaming.
I have now version 1.0.0 installed and I'm not able to connect to hive instance
on fresh Cloudera Instance (which has Hive 1.1).

> The new Hive bundle depends on version 2.0.0 of Hive. This means that it can
> only connect to very recent Hive distributions.
> Sadly very few people in the field have upgraded their Hive to the latest and
> greatest, and as per https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HIVE-6050 the
> issue of backward compatibility in the client is still not resolved.
> We should look at lowering the dependency version to allow connections with
> older Hive distros.
