@s9514171 Thanks for addressing the build failures on JDK 8. The `spring-security-saml` library included a number of dependencies that have had to be excluded, so I'm not surprised to see Xalan as another potential problem. It looks like your most update to exclude Xalan resolves the problem with emojis? That seems like the right solution. @bbende implemented support for SAML, so he may have some additional insight on whether excluding Xalan could be a problem.
