Alessio Palma created NIFI-3037:
-----------------------------------

Summary: Add a bit more interaction into the workflow.
                 Key: NIFI-3037
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NIFI-3037
             Project: Apache NiFi
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Extensions
            Reporter: Alessio Palma
            Priority: Minor

Hello all, using NIFI sometimes I have to recover a workflow gone bad, to do
this recover I need to stop and then start a GenerateFlowFile processor, which
will start a new file, which in turn restarts the workflow.
If GenerateFlowFile processor is clickabale greatly will speed up this task.
Also, when need to manually recover something, we have to adjust some
parameters into UpdateAttribute processors, if these ones can expose some kind
of input form also this task can be faster.

I think NIFI need a bit more interactivity, not for the main task but for
workflow recovery. Sadly this happens.

At last but not least, defining a color palette can improve the handling of big
workflows. When you open a processor group, you need to read carefully what
each blocks does. Using coloured blocks you can give a fast feedback about what
block are UpdateAttribute processor, which ones are SQL EXEC and so on. In the
current NIFI version we can change color, but there is not a customizable
palette from which choose the correct color, when many people are using the
same interface this palette will help a lot the "color coherence".
