Joe Witt commented on NIFI-10558: --------------------------------- Ok so what we want: - build the ranger components on any platform. - test the ranger components only on amd64 and intel64 which is what they support. - never include the ranger components in convenience builds unless manually activated to do so. We will not include them by default any longer. The artifacts are too huge. > NiFi Ranger support as well as NiFi Registry Ranger support needs to still > build on ARM > --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: NIFI-10558 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NIFI-10558 > Project: Apache NiFi > Issue Type: Task > Reporter: Joe Witt > Assignee: David Handermann > Priority: Blocker > Fix For: 1.18.0 > > > Increasingly ARM based laptops are the norm on the Apple world. I am > attempting to do a release candidate this way in fact. > The ranger portions get skipped because Ranger testing requires particular > native libs. So it is understandable tests wont run. Further ranger > artifacts are *huge* so we dont want them in convenience binaries anymore. > But we should still be able to build properly and just skip ranger tests and > we should be able to have the poms properly automatically changed for > snapshot references during the release process. > The actual artifacts would still be workable as the correct native libs would > be loaded for a given supported environment -- This message was sent by Atlassian Jira (v8.20.10#820010)
