I went ahead and updated the code in the linked Pull Request, trying to stay as
close to the code in NiFi as possible, but not to add any connections to NiFi.
It required a small amount of copy/paste from NiFi, but seems that it kept with
the spirit of keeping the two applications separate. I am able to address
comments and change requests in the pull request if desired.
Also, I have tested this locally in a running version of NiFi Registry, and
have run security scans against the application after limiting the set of
enabled cipher suites, and the settings do appear to be working as they do in
NiFi.
