# Summary [NIFI-11713](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NIFI-11713) Removes deprecated ECMAScript support from the main branch following deprecation of JavaScript support in NiFi 1.22.0. This removal aligns with deprecation and removal of the Nashorn engine from Java 15 and following as described in [JEP 372](https://openjdk.org/jeps/372).
