Thanks for the additional background and perspective @mcgilman! I tend to agree that having a separate tab for the Comments creates more complexity, as I highlighted earlier with the potential confusion related to button visibility and location. A multiple-column view still provides plenty of room for Comments. If we go down the road of separate tabs, then the button handling is a concern. If not, the scope remains focused on streamlining the arrangement on the current General tab.
