Joe Witt commented on NIFI-13196:
---------------------------------

In general I am careful saying 'we' but my usage of it above should be non
controversial relative to all the various discussion threads we've had when it
comes to support policies for release lines, for the NiFi 2.x release, etc..

>From your comments I get the sense I get the sense we generally agree here.

I'd sure love to see the energy and effort that this thread/idea takes be more
focused on how you get the users to 2.0. We care about this vibrant and large
community. They cannot stay safely on 1.x it is just that simple. So our best
way to care for them is to guide them to 2.0 and build the right bridge.

> Add a new isAutoTerminated(Relationship) method to ProcessContext

> Currently a Processor has no way of determining whether or not a Relationship
> is auto-terminated. There are cases where a Processor forks an incoming
> FlowFile and updates it (in a potentially expensive manner) and then
> transfers it to a Relationship that is auto-terminated.
> We should add the ability to determine whether or not a given relationship is
> auto-terminated so that we can be more efficient
