After some investigation I believe this hung/unresponsive tab is due to
continuing to attempt to update/re-render the NiFi canvas which is an SVG when
the tab is in the background [1][2]. I'm going to prep a PR with changes to
address item 1 above. I cannot reproduce item 2 locally. If item 2 remains an
issue, let's move it to it's own JIRA and we'll use this one to address item 1.
